The 34 Promises of Romans 6:1-14
Romans 6:1-3
1. We don’t need to continue sinning as a life’s practice.
2. The sin nature is no longer our home, place of residence. We have a change of address!
3. We died to the sin!
4. The power of the sin has died and thusly we don’t have to live in that power any longer.
5. We know with absolute certainty that all these things are true and trustworthy.
6. We were plunged into Christ Jesus. This is where we now live! Immersed in Him.
7. We were plunged into His death. Because He died, my sins died!
Romans 6:4-5
8. We were buried with Christ. Not only did we die, but we were also buried. My old self = “Dead and buried!”
9. Christ Jesus was raised from the dead (to God’s glory!)
10. We can now walk/live in the newness of life because we too were raised with Christ.
11. We have been united together with Christ. We are now conjoined to a new Master!
12. Our new nature is now in the likeness of Christ!
13. Just as we shared in His death and we died to the sin, so we share in His resurrection, in the likeness of Christ.
Romans 6:6-7
14. Our old man was crucified.
15. The body of the sin was done away with (obliterated, rendered inoperative, useless, dead)
16. We are no longer slaves to the sin.
17. We died from the sin.
18. We have been freed (set free cleared, justified) from the sin!
Romans 6:8-10
19. We died with Christ.
20. We will live together with Christ.
21. Christ was raised from the dead and dies no more.
22. Death has no more dominion over Christ.
23. Christ died for the sin, once for all.
24. Christ lives for God.
Romans 6:11-13
25. See yourself as dead indeed to the sin!
26. See yourself as alive to God!
27. You are located in Christ Jesus our Lord!
28. You don’t have to let the sin have reign, resulting in obeying its lusts!
29. Your lifestyle doesn’t need to stand in the unrighteousness of the sin!
30. You must see yourself as being alive from the dead!
31. Your lifestyle is standing in the righteousness of God!
Romans 6:14
32. Sin does not have dominion over you.
33. You are not under law (the control and dominance of sin).
34. You are under grace.
